The Team Members at Royal Recognition know that every day is a great day to appreciate your employees. Officially in the US, Employee Appreciation Day is always the first Friday in March. Tomorrow, business owners, managers & supervisors find creative ways to thank their staff for their daily contributions!

Show your team a little love with these low-cost, high value recognition ideas:

  • An extra long break, to emphasize a good work/life balance
  • A sincere ‘thank you’ note in the company newsletter to all employees, focusing on positive events
  • A small token of appreciation, to be constantly reminded of gratitude
  • Let employees dress casually for the day, for a business-formal office this is a real treat
  • Office-wide “coffee/tea/water break”, gives supervisors a chance to mingle with employees & create memories
  • Organize a team building event, a fun way to collect data for future office ideas

In what way does your organization celebrate Employee Appreciation Day?

Healthcare Appreciation Month

May Should Be Called ‘Healthcare Appreciation Month’

The entire month of May might as well be called “Healthcare Appreciation Month”. The largest recognition celebrations in the industry occur during it’s 31 flower-filled days.

Official month-long celebrations include National Critical Care Awareness & Recognition and Oncology Nursing Month, calling out two prominent sectors of the healthcare workforce.

National Hospital Week

National Nurses Week: May 6th – May 12th
During this week, recognize the important role nurses play in providing crucial patient care. Find out more on the American Nurses Association website.

National Hospital Week: May 8th-14th
Taking a broader approach to healthcare appreciation, National Hospital Week celebrates all individuals with careers related to or involving healthcare. The AHA suggests using National Hospital Week to surprise your many employees with learning sessions, prizes and more, while promoting the support of the community you serve. Hospital HR Staff: Royal Recognition offers many creative gifts and prizes to recognize your hard working team. Reach out to us for ideas!

National Emergency Medical Services Week: May 15th-21st
The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians established EMS week to bring “together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s ‘frontline'”. Check out the ACEP website for more information.

Neuroscience Nurses Week: May 15th-21st
Neuroscience nurses attend to some of the most vulnerable patients in healthcare. This special week highlights their influence on patient care and other areas of the hospital. The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses has a list of potential activities on their website.

There are many, many more healthcare recognition holidays throughout the year. But most importantly, if you’ve had a great experience at any hospital (no matter what the circumstance) – thank the staff. They’ll appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.

2013 SHRM Show Reflections

The 2013 WISHRM Show has come and gone, but we are still swimming with knowledge from the wide variety of seminars and people stopping by our display. Royal Recognition conquered the “HR Waters” (the theme of the show) by setting up our booth with banners, video demo and a wading pool full of ducks and prizes.
